The road comes so close to the border with China.......within a half mile as the crow flies
The mountains on the other side of the river canyon are actually in China
This is the road to Bac Ha

This is what $10 a night will get you here in Bac Ha
But i am getting pretty good at negotiating the price of things
After all, camping for free is always an option for me
Compare this spot to the spot Tam and i stayed in my tent in the bike workshop....both were the same price.
It is no wonder i wanted to bend the rules there

When i got to Bac Ha, i walked the streets looking for a cold beer.
I went to a couple of shops but they wanted 15,000 dong for a beer
That is 3,000 to 5,000 mpre than i normally pay.
I think they were charging the farang prices.
So i just passed
I found a place on the street that sells draft beer for $1.50 a pitcher.
I got a third of a pitcher for 50 cents or 10,000 dong.
Now that's value

The problem with hiring an attorney to get the money is that he will want a good chunk of it. Thieving bastards.

Cool2

After over a year, want to take odds that ANY of the money is left with the Ex wife? Unless, it was put into an escrow account..

I've found most ex-wives to be frugal and fair
Maybe we can hoist a beer when you are in CA. Trip to Newcomb's seems in order . . .

I knew i probably said too much when i brought up my ex wife.
It is just an issue that was too difficult to resolve while on the road. I hope to resolve on my trip home next month and get the money that is safely tied up in a joint account. And if i can't resolve it by myself, then i will have to retain an attorney to deal with it while i am away.
In any event, i will sell some stuff and be back in Europe by the first of June, I am hoping.
In the mean time, i plan to make the most of my time in So Cal. A trip to Baja seems in order. Any one want to do a guided tour of Baja?

Is Angeles Crest Hwy open yet to Wrightwood? If not, no worries, i have a key to the locked gates......

I don't think it was closed at all this year. I rode Angeles crest back in FEB. Not a lot of precipitation this year. There was very little (as in almost no) snow up there.

Stay the Longest

Any place you wished you would have stayed longer? Place you want to go back and stay? Or maybe you're just a rolling stone!

No thank you, Delmar.
