Are you guys going to work the hearing run or focus strickly on salmon? Any cannery work? Back in the day I also worked at Nelbros', Bumblebee, and the Far western, I think thats what it was called. The white socks (no see um's ?) can be a real pain in the butt. The worst place to be is at waters edge and it doesnt matter how fast the water is running. The best is at least 20 feet way from the edge in water perferable in a boat. The tide swings up there are incredible.......

Some countries of the world they might live comfortably in, some children have to walk barefoot. This is a very unjust world.

This system must fall down!

I hear you, but some people get to read blogs on a digital device and even make unsuitable rubbish comments when others are unable to do so. This system should and must change.

Solution sell your device and with the proceeds by as many shoes as u can and......everyone can be happy.

In some of the poorest neighborhoods I rode thru, i saw some of the biggest smiles. Whether or not they had shoes didnt matter

For the past two years, you guys have been sitting behind a computer in some climate controlled office slacking off reading my blog and my adventures with envy..........now I am jealous of you.
It is freezing here. Kind of like San Francisco foggy weather but 20 degrees colder. And i just checked the weather for the week and it calls for rain all week.
Tell your kids to go to college and get a comfy office job so they can read all about what it is like up here working on the stage of the Worlds deadliest catch

hoodie

Hey Ed,
I did a season up there fishing and and my most well used piece of gear besides the rain gear was a hoodie sweatshirt/ideally synthetic, it worked better than a beanie/jacket to keep the cold/dampness off my neck and comfortable..maybe thrift store when you go to shore.

I brought my Baja 1000 hoodie with me. That and four other layers are helping reduce the chill

And for Sunday, they let us off early so we only worked a ten hour day. Do they think we are robots?

Succinct, concise and true to my experience in traveling through impoverished countries. The less people have, the more they are willing and happy to share. Smiles are hard to meaure against quantifiable numbers such as per capita income, but people who value the former more than the latter are generally a lot more fun to spend time with.

Cheers,

.

This kind of work, or other hard, physical, manual labor, does a kid growing into an adult a lot of good.

I appreciate my comfy desk job after throwing boxes in a Walmart distribution center, sweating behind a grill and doing dishes, and delivering pizzas (although delivering pizzas was kind of fun...)
