A one photo report!

Speaking of all's well that ends well.... how's this for the end of a ride?

Rode the Sierras in open throttle mode yesterday, no photos. But I just couldn't help myself riding a backroad down into the valley. This requires one to stop their bike right in the middle of the road and enjoy the moment.

Fortunately on this road traffic is almost non-existent

This would be Rock River Rd. out of Keystone.

Trying to think where Hunt Rd is? Wondering if I've ridden it or if I need to?

Hunt Road runs roughly east-west, mostly to the north of Hwy 4 in the foothills, then merging with it east of Copper. Worth riding at least once .... there's a pretty good network of roads in the vicinity, some unpaved, and since you ride in the area a lot you may have already explored there.

I gotta get over there and take time to ride those roads.

Dave, I am sure you have. Take Rock River rd out of Milton at the Cemetery. It will tie in near Salt Springs Reservoir.

I love all those out of way back roads with no traffic. Especially in Winter.

A lot of those way back roads, including Rock River Rd have patches on top of patches. I also enjoy them but have gotten a lot of complaints from friends who felt the ride was too rough.

O.K., I see

Honestly I can't say I remember Hunt Rd, although I've been on many of those back roads in the area including going through to Salt Springs and New Hogan reservoir. I really do like the Rock Creek Rd, here's a re-post from earlier in the thread of a quick snapshot

TomInCA- anybody who doesn't appreciate out of the way roads with surfaces like this probably doesn't see riding the same way we do

Just for clarity as there may be a little confusion here, the above photo is Rock Creek Rd, which is near the Hunt rd we are discussing.

The sunset photo was taken on Rock RIVER rd, a bit south of there, west of Chinese Camp, Keystone etc.

Cool, thanks for getting my bearings. Too many roads, too little time.

Dave, I don't have any photo's but I know a few back roads that need some. Indian Gulch road off Hornitos road near Hornitos and Las Polomas rd. before you get to Hornitos.

Really as cool as those roads are most of them don't photograph well (IMHO). So I just keep riding them and then one day the light or conditions are just perfect and there ya go. Earlier in this thread I put one up of The Old Toll rd by Hornitos, been on that road so many times but it took a dab of snow and late day light for me to think it was a winner.

I guess I'll just have to keep riding them again and again......

You mean like this photo from Yesterday, when I'm certain I finally spotted the Troll under the old Dardanelle bridge?
