Welcome Moto V.
I really enjoyed your 21days RR. I'm jealous of your time.
We will have to get together at some point and share some notes.
Rollergirl and I will probably be going down next weekend to look for rain and hopefully some BBQ borrego.

Ha Ha Ha. Yes there is a trail through there.
Thank you goats!

Even one-day trips to Baja are awesome. Thank you TravelToad for being able to make a last-minute ride happen.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the "ride".
Most of my riding is further south, not nearly the miles you have close to the border. As a matter of fact, we're leaving in ...ummm 11 days on a ride waayy south. We won't even start riding till San Ignacio and zig zagging down to Todos Santos.
Maybe we should hook up for a ride "near Ramona" one day soon.

P.S. Rollergirl rocks!

A while ago, we heard that a small but old motorcycle club was holding their annual group ride in the area that we love to ride in. We have ridden their trails and followed their flagging in the past, and usually seem to miss them by a week or two. We have tried in the past to find out who they are without any luck. We have wanted to thank them for the trail network and see if we can maybe lend a hand in the future.

This year we heard about their ride before the event and managed to track down the guy in charge. After a nice chat on the phone, he said that it was a private, invitation only, ride and that we probably couldn't hang with them anyway seeing as how they were all old pros and industry insiders. I explained how we rode the same trails and he didn't seem to believe me as I didn't know any of the cute names for the trails, and also due to the fact that nobody had ever shown us the trails.

We didn't take the put down very well as we had really been looking forward to meeting this group of old farts and following them around on the trails that we already ride.

So a couple of us went and did the ride anyway. We started at the half way point at about the same time that the horrible dusty group of 100 riders started at the beginning. We had a wonderful dust free ride, ending back at the half way point 75 miles later. Thanks for the fun loop guys. Sorry we didn't bump into you.

To get to the half way start point we had to add about 20 miles of our own fun stuff.

Who knew that our favorite motorcycle company made tasty msg-based snacks too!

Thanks guys! Hopefully we will see you next year.

Often, when I am just riding along, I entertain myself by thinking about the beautiful prose that I will use to enthrall my ADV audience. I write up an entire ride report in my helmet. It has a sound track and loads of pictures too.

But then, I tire myself out to a point where the ride report in my head goes quiet, all other thoughts disappear, the sound track continues thanks to my iPod, all senses are concentrated on the ride, and it seems like I only bother stopping to take similar pictures to my last ride.

Then, when the ride is over and I am safely being swept along by everyday life, I don't seem to be able to find time to be constructive on my little day-tripping-blog. The time that I can squeeze in eliminates the lengthy prose and distills it down to one-line entries attached to batches of similar photos.
