I made the journey from Middle Tn to Alaska in ’05. I f I have any words of wisdom, it's to slow down and smell the fireweed. In hindsight, I was under too much stress to make deadlines and did not savor all that the experience had to offer. Do not be rushed. When you are in a hurry you can make a mistake. You do not want to make a mistake. Take your time, enjoy every day, and try to remember every moment.

Thanks Soos for letting us know we have friends on our path. I think I saw Seattle and it's beautiful. You have that red lined saucer thing in the sky? Sorry, my focus has been on riding and it leaves me geographically challenged.

what's alcan? who did u go with?

Thanks for noticing Mistress! Now with 4 days of riding behind us, I'm starting to feel my confidence build. I have to admit that the first 3 days and today, I thought I might do something dumb and get seriously hurt. But tomorrow I think I'll feel less scared and allow myself to enjoy more confidence.

I have to remember to put in ear plugs though - my ears are pounding now!

enjoy your trip, and try not to get too many tickets!

BikerFish,

You know rockets are hot... and the GTL does have seat heating!

And yeah... I was thinking today that I'll probably end up with 1 - 2 tickets this tour. It's so hard not to go fast.

Wow Abenteuerfahrer....

I'm looking forward to reading about you guys and your trip...I did it ten years ago...40 days in the far PNW and loved every minute of it. Riding to Alaska is a life-changing event, IMHO. Have a wonderful time!

Do we call comments from Clif, "Clif's Notes?"

Steve! I remember you!

Do you remember me? I asked you about Bill!

I swung a leg over the GTL last week and decided I'm not ready for that kind of heft just yet, as I'd still like to get some off-road time in on my GS before I give in. Figure if/when I hit 50 in 5 years I'll buy the big road-sled
cbach,

I love going off-road and I took my GTL off road a tiny bit today. Even that was scary because ... well, how will I pick up that monster if it tips over? It's already hard enough ON the road, much less OFF it!

BTL,

If you see two GTL's riding in a pair, you'll know it's us!

How do I know it's you though??
