ESTES PARK, Colo. - A wildfire is burning in Rocky Mountain National Park on Tuesday afternoon, causing the evacuation of Moraine Park campground and Fern Lake Road, park officials said on Twitter.
Firefighters are heading to the area.
One caller told 7NEWS the smoke is so thick it's ringing the sun.
Other residents say that smoke is billowing over Estes Park.
Moraine Park is an area where people view elk
A Sky Crane just flew over the house, headed east. I assume it was up fighting the fire in RMNP. Maybe, because it was leaving this early in the day, they have the thing under control! That was one big and LOUD helicopter!!!!

EDIT: Unfortunately it was called off due to wind conditions... "A heavy helitanker joined the fire suppression efforts today, but was called off in the afternoon due to high winds." The fire is still 0% contained and about 400 acres.

Did they ever have the press conference? What was the result?

They put out a statement not long after the initial announcement that state the original announcement was a mistake and there would be no press conference. Back on the September 20th someone put up 100K as a reward for info.

You forget, it's Colorado Springs. Obama started the fires.

Just so long as you wear a hat.

They said it was "caused by a human" and left it at that except to ask for people to report in if they know any more than that.

If you believe the far left environmentalists...all fires are caused by humans, so this doesn't help us much.

And they think lightning strikes (which was not the cause of this fire) are "caused by humans?"
