Great reporting, Donnie!
I enjoyed that "put it in 4th and roll on and roll off as needed". Ah, yes, the fun you can have when you don't speak that forked tongue Harley dialect like some other people do. LOL!

Thanks! I think I have crossed on a ferry in this general area as well.

Yes, spirted, but lazy riding! Harley riders make great fiction writers! They are all about pretending. But, of course, we have both seen that in action!

I will write a bit while the last of the pictures are downloading. I have taken no pictures of the house I am staying in, as that would not be a very respectful thing to do, but, I will tell you a bit about it. It is made of concrete blocks on a cement base with a tin roof that is set upon the building with up to 10 inch gaps between the roof and the top of the walls. It is about 22 feet by 30 feet and I am probably over estimating its size. While there is usually eight to ten people there for the night, with me being the exception, all are related. However, as we would define an immediate family as being one or more parents plus their children, there is at least four families represented, not including me.

There is no running water in the house. There is outside. A large cement container holds the water to flush the adjoining ca mode, with a bucket of course. You also bathe standing up and dipping water out of that cement tank. Of course, you don't get soap in that container. And the same tank water is used for washing dishes and other house hold duties. The water is supplied from somewhere by a 1/2" hose. Drinking water is purchased in the large five gallon or so containers. Cooking is done outside on a wood burning homemade grill.

There is electricity, but it is limited to about three bulbs, one of which is outside and a single wall receptacle. There is no air conditioning, nor is there a fan of any type. There are two doors in the house, but they are only shut at night. There are no screens and there are no windows.

This is not the Tourist Ad Pictures that you see, but it is the real Mexico and the people are just as happy as the ones that live on my street at home.

I did not write this for one to read and think of how they would "just die" if they had to live like this, I wrote it to give an insight into how most of the population here lives. I do not feel "sorry" for these people. Yes, I wished that they had more, but they have happiness! Many folks with much more should be very jealous!

To see the excitement of people receiving "new" used clothes, versus many in our country being ashamed if their clothes don't come from the "proper" boutiques suggest to me, if one is the feel sorry for one of these groups, it should not be the one to the south! Of course that is simply my opinion.

Very few of the pictures that I will post today were taken by me. Most were taken by Mireyda, an eleven year old girls already identified else where in this RR. I took a few on a walk around and a few other folks took a few each.

Yovoni and one of the family pets.

Jose Manuel.
