Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you had gone the other way? I never gave much consideration to the directions I took in life, just mostly went along with the flow.

Some forks were dirt,

and some were paved,

and they all led me to right here.

I have found that some forks are plastic and some are metal. Both have gotten me here.

During my last stint of "Harley Riding" I didn't see many dirt roads, not because it bothered me in the least, but because many of the people I rode with weren't into it (they'd do it, but they didn't like it).

I love to ride those quiet back roads, either with folks who don't mind just wandering around, or by myself. A few weeks ago I had the chance to get away for a Saturday and go poking around in the Virginia hills in Floyd, Carroll and Patrick counties. I had ridden these areas for years, but mostly the small paved roads. This time I tried to find every dirt road I could.
