Now that's what I call an adventure bike!
As has been said many times, its not about having the biggest, newest bike, its about the journey, I've always loved quirky little bikes, probably had more fun on them than I've ever had on big stuff, and it never stopped me going anywhere (slowly!). Good Luck to him.

Can it be done?

Maybe

Would be really hard to carry enough tools, camping gear, clothes and spares.

Don't think a monkey is heavy enough to handle pulling a trailer. You can squeeze in a big enough motor for sure, but the weight of the trailer would push around the light weight monkey back end.

8 inch wheels would make for a scary ride hauling a lot of gear.

Brakes can be upgraded to discs, but are limited by the 8 inch wheels.

Riding position and seat would have to be changed for the long hours.

Where will the extra tank fit? Saddle bag aux tank?

10" wheels on the Dax, but you are correct in that it would be a scary ride. I Know the guy did it but I would not want to do it and I have something similar.

Here's My little American Lifan Ct70 DAX Clone below with a Iron bore 140cc with a few other goodies here and there.... is flat scary as hell since the bike is so light and has so much power.

Even with a 29th rear sprocket it wants to pull up going into 3rd in the pipe. But man... A trailer and all the assorted goodies The guy had some stones..

Mine

I think that one was taken at Rick's Rdv a few years ago. Read that he got the bartender posed topless on it. Seem to remember seeing pics out there somewhere.

Just came across it and thought it was cool. Yep he used be be on adv but he and someone else get in a pissing contest about someone he felt was scamming people here for free stuff. End result was getting banded. It really doesn't matter what it was about just the fact he went out and did something . Hell right now I want to be on the road . The same as i want to leave last year but till my some stuff is finely dealt with and taxes paided I can't leave. Delayed till next may . At that time barring shitting cold weather , hail, tornadoes , failing house the pin witches to the ground I gone for months

Pulling a bicycle trailer at high speed looks like a recipe for disaster.

BTW deezildennis, think about changing out those oil cooler lines. Once they get hot a few times they'll leak or break.

I did the swap in late 2008 and have a couple of thousand miles on it now.

They seem to be holding up well.

Found the thread where he took the bicycle trailer to the blue ridge parkway. Seemed to work for him.
