Trans Sibir eXpedition 2012
On Saturday we will start on our trip. From Kristiansand, Norway to Vanino via BAM. If time permits we'll also do Road of Bones. Our goal is to do the whole of BAM :-)
Initial route is loosely as follows: Lindkjøping, Swedén Copenhagen Berlin Krakow Kiev Volgograd Ekaterinburg Irbit, Ural factory Toward Krasnoyarsk Tayshet Vitim Tynda Komsolomsk Vanino We'll try to update this page as we go. We'll mostly be camping, but if you have a bed available for two guys on the road that would be much appreciated :-) We will update our web page also as we go. It is in Norwegian, but there is a Google Translate button there. www. Sibir2012.com. You can also follow our SPOT to see where we are. Don't look back, you are not going in that direction :-) |

Good Luck........especially after Tynda
Hi Geir
Hope you both have a great trip. Wish I had the time to join you. As it is, I fly to Almaty on 13th for my Kazak and possibly Altai/Tuva trip. By the looks of your route, we won't meet but I will be watching your updates. I haven't forgotten your invitation to North Norway.....next year maybe Mike |

![]() Ukrainian cars. I like :-) Been to Chernobyl today. Stopped by guards, but some locals told us about a way around. Through some closed towns. Then we found an old tower used for fire watching. There we saw the big pipe and smoke. Pictures will follow. One little mishap today. When driving out from the camping grounds I went down on the bike. Got the leg pinned between tje bike and the ground. Not fast, but now my knee is all swollen up and hurting. Hopefully it will be better in a few days. |
