Oh man, could it be? A motorcycle of the middle class, oriented for the exploitation on the roads with the different covering!

IZH isn't making any motorcycles at the moment. (Well maybe some Sampsons). Plans for the Chinese engined bikes fell through as the Chinese weren't prepared to transfer engine production to Russia. They are working on an all electric bike with a 500 km range using (LiFePO4) batteries made by Liotech. With that sort of range and fast charging capability they may be onto something.

History works in strange ways. Who would have expected that the Soviet industrial might would end up so far behind their culturally-revolutionizing rivals?

Almost everyone is behind China. Either by buying their products or watching them collapse development ten-fold. See the recent Chinese space mission? The middle kingdom is making mighty advances. May we live in interesting times.

When Hitler gave Stalin the R71 design, I'm guessing he didn't expect droves of M72's coming back to haunt him. It may have crossed the mind of the Soviet planners that at some point the Changs might have returned to fight a Sino-Soviet war.

I doubt the possibility of our current scenario occurred to anyone in the 1950's maybe to a young Deng Xiao Ping?

Old memories of a Jupiter- no political input...

I briefly owned one of the old '70's Jupiter outfits back in the mists of time, wonderfully bizarre Flash Gordon styling, terrible bike but a great sidecar. I think its what Americans call a Sputnik, metal body, lots of useful features, much better design and quality than the velorex sidecar I now possess. Wish I had one now.
