Not exactly your typical sport tourer I guess, but I am using it as one. Taking a 2k mile trip for 10 days up around Lake Superior with some friends of mine in September. Bought this bike specifically for that trip. Taking mini weekend trips to Wisconsin and other surrounding states this coming summer also.

A person can't tour on a bike like that! Are you mad?

Very nice!!!

I prefer the blue or as I fell in love with on AF1, a custom painted yellow one.

I've found some great riding in Wisconsin on a couple different trips.

Had a black Z1000, same year. I thought the stock seat was miserable after an hour or so, especially as it aged - recommend checking out aftermarket seats. Also the annoying buzzing can be addressed by filling the handlebar with birdshot. The ergos and motor are quite distance-friendly.

So far no buzzing issues. I dont find the seat horrible but I am thinking of adding an airhawk seat pad for my longer journeys on it. I am building a custom tail rack for it to use for carrying my tent and sleeping bag. So far really enjoying this bike.

BMW K1300S for sport touring?

Hello, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a bike almost identical to this one except the one I'm looking at is a multi-color gray/black/red/silver model. Any thoughts on sport touring with the luggage setup as seen here. While not "adventure" style touring, it seems this combination would combine sport bike performance with a touring bike accent.

I've been waking up in the middle of the night thinking about Futuras lately. Man I want one so bad. I've got such an eclectic collection of crap I never ride. What I've been thinking about is whittling it down to my GS, my 900SS, getting rid of all my other crap and getting a Futura and a WR250. Then I'd be pretty much set for a while I'd think.

No, it wouldn't be great.

It would be AWESOME.

Pull the trigger and enjoy!

K1300S is an amazing bike. Buy it!!!!!

The only reason I bought a Ducati ST3 over the Futura was I already had a RSV1000R. I still love the Futura. One of the coolest gauge clusters of all time.
