How do you like the st1300 ? How does it compare to your 1150 on the road ?
BTW- we met at Ironhorse lodge in Tn. a couple years ago when you were enroute down south.I had the big Hilleberg tent and 1200 gsa and camped next to you and your hammock.

hey hey nice to hear from you

I got the ST1300 so I can tour around New England with my Girl, she was not happy on the back of my GS (well she was ok on it in Peru lol) so after testing few bikes this is the one she picked so technically the bike is hers , anyway.

So far I only road it for about an hour and the longer test ride will happen this Saturday, but I do like it.
Its smooth as hell and has plenty of power so thats no prob. I love the electric shield, you can minimize the buffer on the fly. It feels very stable and center weight is done right so should be ok. I will put more here after the longer ride.

The GS is here to stay as well

How are you bud?

#1 son in college, #2 and #3 are real close. Best entry price into sport touring. Plenty of faults, but more strengths in this bike. Loving it.

I had a red one & I should have been checking the mirrors instead of looking ahead, because the CT. state trooper who was right behind me was able to remind me just what speed I was going. He even made a note of it on the little award he gave me.

just bought a 2000 st1100. It replaced a Vulcan 1500 which replaced a KLR 650. Its good for all day touring, fun in the twisties and you can rack the miles. I think its an underappreciated class of motorcycle, either way it works for me :sly:

Just dawned on me...

I consider all of my bikes "Sport Tourers"

2003 Triumph Tiger

1989 FJ1200

1984 BMW R100

Maybe it just boils down to how you like to ride, not what you are riding.

My CBR250R

This is my sport touring thumper 249cc of pure fun
I know it's not like your typical BMW, etc, but it gets the job done. The longest I have ridden it in one day is around 500 miles.

With the revs low at a constant 55mph I can average 80+ mpg
