Another great ride report Wilmo, what was the biggest distance between refueling.

Around 550km from Drysdale Stn, into Bachsten Camp, and out to Mt Barnett for refuel, but we did find fuel could be purchased (Avgas) from Bachsten Camp/Mt Elizabeth Station, but may not be practical for a small group as you have to buy a whole drum. Best carry your own. We hid a bladder on the way past Mt Elizabeth Stn the first time at the turn off, and carried a full bladder from Drysdale Stn on the return leg, to offset the fuel use from Drysdale to the Mt Elizabeth turn off from the Gibb River Rd. We therefore had a full tank plus a 6 litres for the ride from Mt Elizabeth turnoff, into Bachsten Camp, and out to Mt Barnett and needed every drop.

Fantastic ride report. We made it up to the Mitchell falls 2 weeks later on a Triumph Tiger 800XC and two 955's. Tales of the limping lads still abound around the Drysdale River campfire!

Nice ride report Wilmo. Did the pilot let you have a fly of his chopper?

The 400 would have been nice and light, but the fuel range of the tenere probably would have been handy.
