Really $145.00 for the comfort seat? I'm assuming that's the upgrade charge. I paid $445.95 for the comfort seat but that was after buying my bike.

Regarding the "comfort" part. I discovered that the comfort seat on my 658 sloped down towards the front more than the stock seat so I have to keep sliding back in the seat so I don't crush my nuts

Other than that, it is more comfortable. I'll probably take it to a local seat guy and have them level the rider section of the seat out. For now I put the stock seat back on.

Oh, the comfort seat is a little higher than the stock seat if that makes a difference to you.

Yes $145 is the "option cost" not the "full" cost...
The extra height would not bother me, but based on your review ... it does not sound like the ideal solution ....

On the F658GS the valve stems were "conventionally" located on the inside center of the rims.
On the F700GS the are located up a bit on one of the spokes with the valve stem pointing out sideways,
which I have to say I like better .... this means they probably have changed to a different design for the TPM module?

On the F658GS the battery in the module was not designed as a replaceable item, which meant that when the battery went dead in 3-5years you would have to buy new sensors and then have the dealer pair them up with the OBC.
Anybody know if that is still the case?

Take my review of the comfort with a grain of salt since I'm only about 150 lbs and it could be that the seat is designed to carry more weight.

Most of the reviews I read were positive so I was surprised by my results.

I've got a loaded Grey/Blue 2009 F650GS for sale in the Flea Market. It may be a step up that works for you, from the G650 for less money than new. It is a lowered suspension (just had the dealer look up the vin this afternoon). Perfect for <= 31" inseam. I took the opportunity to ride a F700GS while I was there. It is peppier, yet turns just as crisp as the F650GS. Thinking of trading my F800GS and the F650 GS for it. Take care.

I second Woody's 9-28 pos, 100% true. I have a 2009 F650GS and a 2010 F800GS. Factor gearing results in ~4350 RPM at 70 mph indicated on the F800 and ~4000 RPM on the F650. I rode a F700GS this afternoon out of the showroom and it showed ~ 4100 RPM at 70 mph indicated. They have really worked to find a happy medium for the 700, it seems to corner as well as the 650 and has more pep!

exactly...softening up the riding suspension....comfy is much more loose...makes it easier to touch the ground

....and yes, you still have to crank the preload but we never really touch that unless we have luggage on the bike.
