So maybe we have a real pre-dakar on Morocco!!!

By the way, Cheleco mentioned he will run KTM in Morocco AND DAKAR (by Bordone Ferrari Team, but not their new bike)
Will anyone be running the new bike - the MI1?
Maybe that shows that a truly new bike is not a 5 minute, or a 5 month (Honda have had 6) process!

It just goes to show the efforts and the cash from Honda andI understand in typical Japanese fashion nothing is taken for granted and any the input from the riders is noted, but not always "taken as read"; rather tested and checked until proven first!

With the bikes, riders, logistical and technical support & R&D, each test must be 100's k$, not to even consider the technical follow up afterwards. I am sure the Morroco Honda won't be the finished article, but the work in progress and the week will be good as said though let's hope the idiots quieten down by then - I'm sure the Phaorons will point the way to that!

The bmw/huskies will be in the Pharaos...And they have a bigger claim to fame imho then Honda's effort so far with their day results in recent years.

Felipe Zanol finished the FIM race yesterday in 2nd place. The race was held at Mogi das Cruzes -SP- Brasil. Part of the race track passed on Dimas Mattos farm....
I had a chance to be there.....
After the race Felipe Zanol commented about the bike improvements he did with the Team at Japan and that will be racing on Rally Morocco as part of the bike preparation prior to Dakar 2013 race....

Let's hope HRC get the electrical mix/compatibility right, something that seemed to have been the issue with the last years HT CRF 450 Dakar X, although as this is a totally new factory machine hopefully any technical risks will not be there

Any thoughts or speculation on the HRC team final positioning in Morocco?

Within the HRC team first and then the rally overall

I predict a better than expected showing. Not a win, but I suspect HRC will show well.

Pretty sure that the bike will still be "work in progress" but equally if it wasn't ready to race then HRC would not risk it either, or that tha Japanese would miss programme.

Without a doubt it will be competitive and it will be more than interesting to see how the South American side of the team fairs up against the European side, pretty close I expect?

I feel the bike will push and beat most of the KTM's, but it will be a bit like F1 in the end, a balance between man and machine - so a tough ask!

This bike is a GHR Australian built Honda to race at Dakar in 2013 to be ridden by one of the Smith brothers. If funds permit both brothers will go. Glenn Hoffman racing built some of the best Hondas around to go dessert racing.
