Best and Cheapest 'Around-Town' Tire
I've got dirt-only wheels now, with dirty tires on 'em. So what do I put on my street (read stock) wheels? This is my only mode of transport; well, besides my bicycle and sneakers. Shinkos, perhaps? Thanks for your responses.

Shinko 705's
Quote:
I have been happy with the Shinko 705. I found a steal last fall and got a pair of 705's (Radial rear) and a 700 front for just over $125. Looking at today's prices they seem to have gone up a fair amount. Decent tire and grip though. Kyle

Thanks all. Ordered a set for about $130. Now maybe I can take a mostly-paved trip without feeling guilty about wasting knobby tires.

the stinko 705's hook up well on stone roads as well. But watch the "spirited rides" on backtop. I swear I wore 1/4 of the thread off the rear 705 in a 100 mile ride.
edit: It looks like I will get 1/2 the mileage out of the rear 705 that I got out of the stock Ankee 2
