86 XL600R stator ?

I've had a Ricky Stator in my XL600 for two years and only 1800 miles. Engine wouldn't start last weekend due to no spark. After all the troubleshooting found the black/red ignition wiring from the stator tested at 55 ohms instead of the needed 230 to 320. So what do I do? Buy another RIcky and hope it quits in my driveway like this one did or go with an Electrosport or some other brand? What do you feel is the most reliable. I'm just curious on who has had the best luck with what.
Thanks Joe

First thing I'd do is call Ricky Stator and see if they will warranty your stator.

Email has been sent with a much more detailed discription of the problem and time line. If I can remember to call them Thursday I will. I don't really expect much support after two years but we'll see what they say. Some companies are pretty decent about it and most just tell you to pound sand.

Sorry for bringing this back to life, but in case it matters, I have the same problem with my Rick's Stator, it has 50 miles on it and the ignition coil is shot. I am thinking there is something wrong with my electrical system causing these problems.

What was your fix? What stator did you end up replacing the Ricky's with?

If your Ricky Stator is only 50 miles old I'm pretty sure that they will warranty it. Give them a call.

They are straight up. They will take care of it.
One of the problems with the XL600 is it runs too damn hot. Put in an oil cooler and it will do alot to save the electronics.
