My son and I just r&r'd the pcv/flame trap system on his '88 244. We had a good time working on it together, but let's just say it was a slight pita. We picked it up for his first car and he's learning basic car maintenance and repair on the quirky old beast.

Next job is to replace the MAF. Still getting over the sticker shock on that one.

I do enjoy the car though. First experience with Volvo.

we have an 87 244, original owners (was my wife's car, many babysitters drove it, I drove it for awhile to fix it back up when I was between cars, then it was my son's first car, now its my daughters (18)).... has about 400,000 miles on it. original MAF, same version LH2.2 as yours. had to replace the main engine wiring harness this year but the car is in such good shape, it seemed like it was worth it.

You're not paying attention are you. There's a fucking rodent in the crank pulley. It's a doofus photo.

I just hate seeing my familly name mispelled

The first Pierce came over here with the pilgrims circa 1644. my clan mostly stayed around New England, but some of them migrated to Virginia and other parts south... some were slave owners, hence so many black Pierce's.

Some of the hillbilly clans didn't know how to spell properly, and the name got mutated to Pearce and even Pearse.

I suspect George Pierce, of Buffalo, New York, who founded Pierce Arrow, was a relative too, but who knows, a family tree is freekin huge when you go back 20 generations and 350+ years. Quite a bit of my dad's family spread all over New York and Massachussets.
