Those big diesel generators had winch systems installed permanently in the overhead, in case we ever needed to pull a head off the block. I'm glad we never had to!
One ship I served on had two 9 cylinder Nordberg 2-strokes for main propulsion. We had a spare cylinder liner and piston bolted to the aft bulkhead. Nowhere near as big as that, though. Our generators were four 8-268A GM 2-stroke Cleveland diesels. Those are why my hearing sucks today. They had no intake air silencers, and the noise level was around 100 dB. 24/7.

And hearing protection works only so well. At some point, you'll get damaging exposure by simple bone conduction, or my favorite, by yawning. No one makes earplugs for the eustachian tubes (and they'd be a bitch to insert).

wow, those have some serious trail . must be a trip to do low speed turns with that (my guess is, minimum turning radius is way up there like 25 feet)

That black Delage has quite a history. Originally belonged to Lord Howe, then Richard Seaman, who was killed driving a Mercedes GP car before WWII.

It's kind of unique and well-known. I'm surprised it's on this side of the pond.
