Not quite, mine was a stock 66 Fairlane 390 GTA. Posi trac, 335 hp, red with black interior. 10 mpg usually, but, premium was 27c per gallon for a couple of years until OPEC and the embargo.
I got it with about 60,000 miles showing for $900. My Dad saw it at Keller's and that was that.

When I was in high school my shop teacher did the same thing- called it "bench testing". Had a 350 hanging from the hoist just off the ground, wired it up, dumped some gas down the carb and hit the starter. No pipes off the headers. Everyone jumped about 10 ft in the air when it lit off..

He said: "What. You all didn't think it would start!?"
