Hey, remember the bit about mice in your air filter box, and I related a story about a friend whose car quit running because they'd packed the air box with dog chow? Guess what I found when I serviced my GS last week:

Mice are industrious little bass turds; the air intake for this bike is about three feet off the ground and tucked up under the tank with nothing near it to climb on. The little acrobats must have made 1000 trips up there. It sure runs better without two cups of kibbles packed around the air filter.

I hope you have a great trip and your Winnie keeps on truckin'! I also hope you don't go broke buying gas for that thing

. It's cheaper than a hotel, I guess, and easier than camping with three little kids and a new baby. Good on you guys!

That brought back many memories of my treeplanting days in the 80's and early 90's. I planted every major pass between MacKenzie to Terrace an stopped in at Manson Creek many times. Fishing is great in Germanson Lake by the way, as well as Takla Lake AND many, many more. Northern BC is our hidden gem. Keep posting! Cheers!!!

Nice to know I'm not the only mice-infested ADVer. The gas bill has been ridiculous, as has been the rest of the Winnebago, but you're right about camping with the fam. My wife's sister was tenting with us (and has 4 kids the same age as ours) and was in the motorhome a lot...

I apologize. Been a little busy wrenching on the Winnebago. 9 litres of oil, 2 litres of brake fluid, one waterpump and fan belt so far... Laid up in Abbotsford with engine knock now.

But we had a good time.

I've grown up in Victoria, but have never explored BC. It's amazing what is in our own backyard. Can't wait to get out there and do it!
