You've got to look closely though as the pic didn't turn out too good. The color was slightly pale green, nothing as vivid as some of the photos I've seen, not as swirly.

Yeah, unfortunately I worked till midnight that day, and by the time I got home there was nothing to see. Oh well, I'm sure more will come.

Holy Moly am I ever tired! Working two jobs is a tad more than I had imagined it would be.
Still Tomorrow I get two paychecks, so that is gonna be awesome!

I was checking out new motorcycle gear….. forgot how much those things were.
I'm leaning toward getting the same pants, I loved them! Having the sides zipper all the way open, and then snapping them shut, which still allowed airflow, was just brilliant. Unfortunately Motorcycle Superstore stopped carrying that brand. Might have to go to ebay.
I got half a day off today so I'm gonna relax!!!! Not gonna have another day off for then next two weeks.

If you are getting new pants you should really have a look at these. On the expensive side, but from all accounts worth it.

looks like youre in for a treat!

AURORAS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY? Three CMEs are heading for Earth. Individually they are minor clouds. However, by striking Earths magnetic field in quick succession on Feb 14-15, they could cause significant geomagnetic activity around the poles. High latitude skywatchers should be alert for auroras on Valentines Day when NOAA forecasters estimate a 60% chance of geomagnetic storms.

Extreme Aurora (fri sat sun)
Active aurora possible with excellent chance of minor auroral substorms and favorable conditions for major aurora activity.

Finally!!
I saw some really cool Northern lights when going home at midnight (Barnes and Noble called me if I please wanted to come in today on my day off. I'm such a sucker!)
As soon as I saw the display in the sky I pulled over and sat there for a while looking at it. Turned of my headlights so it would be darker, and just kept my blinkers on in case someone showed up.
I was so excited, there were waves and swirls and all that good stuff you see in pictures. Of course I didn't have my camera, could have tried with my cell, but I don't think it would have showed.
Maybe next time!

I was in Fairbanks about 10 years ago and for a few nights the lights covered the entire sky, it was AMAZING!
