Fires were ok this weekend, so I would assume they'll still be ok in October.

No wood gathering at the site though. Camp host had some wood.
Anyone driving a pickup up?

This might be doable. I could throw wood into the back of my Tundra and put the bike on the carrier.

I'll see if I can scrounge up a load of wood.

Isn't that the same as trailering? But OTOH, I'll never turn down a chase truck (can I throw my fishing pole in there?). Gilla? Gilla?

No no, driving a truck to carry useful shit is totally OK.

Considering how fucking cold it was at the Sierra Soiree a while back, I was considering getting some wood myself and trucking the DR up anyways.

IDK. TBD.

That would be great. I'd be more than willing to conrtibute to any extra costs you incur in securing the wood

So depending on which weekend this will be (if it is the later date I can't come as we have a prior engagement) I might be able to come up in the Jeep and bring the family since we just got the new camper (read: wife will now be happy as she will have a furnace for the evenings). That way I could haul some firewood after we get there...

If I go that route, can I bring the dog?

Yes, my life is changing now to where the WHOLE family now will be coming to the adventure. It's not a bad thing, though as we are getting lots of new toys for it...

Family is cool. My wife is riding her own bike to the Redwood Rendezvous this weekend. It'll be her first trip on her own bike.
We had several dogs at the Fall Colors last year. It all went well.
Ian's lab Riley was a riot.

I checked on the wood and got the OK to fill up the truck when I need it.

Can't beat free.
