I've ordered one. Keen to find mount points for the pannier frames. Maybe run someting off the pillion peg and rack mounts with a loop around the rear.

Off touring in December.

A 58hp touring single for under $10K gotta be happy with that.

Hey davo,
Are you in Aus?

My local guy told me he's not expecting them in until next year?

My guy rang me today and said the first week of December. That ride away price looks the same as mine - perhaps a tad dearer. DR sold pending payment.

I reckon DRF is the first of very many who lay down their cash for one of these babies.

I will definitely be checking one out, it could be the 'single' that gets me off my F8??

Yes Troy

Despite your hurtful response to this bike I'm running with it.

Currently Terra Nullius soon to be Terra Australis.

Whats not to like - 58hp and under ten grand, 2 year warranty etc. I cant say I am a fan of the looks. It aint a race bike but it should be able to pull a decent mono out front of the Pub.

Dave

Webtrax Welding Services have experience with zees Husky frames, happy to help.

Still amazed at the price for these. I could certainly overlook the minor deficiencies for that price.

Also still can't work out where the extra weight went, it looks like it should be lighter. Weird.

Cheers
Peter

Pete I will be around your house with some tube and rods as soon as

It does not look heavy to me either.

Sidestand could do with a bigger shoe too.

People reckon the forks are crap too - they look OK to me.

Hurtful response...??? Gee drf... I've never known you to take take anything I've ever garbled to heart like that before...?

And to be fair, my comments have been primarily centered around the wieght issue - and not just Husky mind you... the same criticism I have levelled at a number of dualsport/offroad bikes released by Honda, Yamaha, KTM and Husqvarna over the last three to four years (I guess one could counter by saying; at least they are releasing some new models... I suppose? ). Yeah, the defenders of the obese and downtrodden rattle the swords on the sides of their chunky armour making very astute observations like; "it's not an enduro bike"... which is hardly the point; ANY bike that weighs more (than it absoulitely needs to) just places more load on the suspension/breaking parameters, affects it's power/weight/performance ration and is heavier to toss around/pick up when tossed down. So I don't see why being classified as an "Adventure bike" automatically absolves the manufacturers from foisting unnecessarily heavy "tanks" on us?

But in any case, it still astounds me with all the modern materials, manufacturing techniques and technoligy available to the motorcycle industry today, that thirty years on from the XT 500, we cannot produce a bike (for the same purpose) that is not 20 to 25 kilo's HEAVIER than back then?

Then again, if your reference is to the satiric "ponytails in the boardroom" peice I wrote earlier in this thread...? Shit... I dunno, I reckon I hit the nail plumb on the head... they've taken an existing established powerplant, that has paid for itself several times over, dressed it up in a new suit, priced it competitively and released it with a big fanfaire...

You are right drf... there's nothing not to like... looking forward to how much you like it. So far the only written reports I've seen have been by the Husky PR department, mincing journalists and/or Husky-files from various owner/club/fan forums of various Husqvarna persuasion.

Enjoy!

Not just the weight but i was surprised they didn't increase the suspension travel from the strada.
Surprised by the low price, The motor will be the big selling point.

Won't be buying one but keen to hear how they go.
