2nd rebuild?

What is going on Tag? Did PFG explain what caused it?

I struggle to understand something on the Terra?

A few people here are saying it is a road bike capable of some dirt, but then say it is a direct attack on the KLR/DR market.. which are trail bikes with the DR having a bias to Dirt and the KLR having a bias to Road..

I don't see how the Terra can be considered a Road bike? I suspect it is a "big Trail bike" which is great on the tar.... ..

Anyone care to explain?

Don't get me wrong, I think they will be a good thing, with all the usual mods, sort the suspension, bigger tank some racks, why not!

I wouldn't expect BMW to want to have anything to do with the new Huskies different importer and all.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

The Terra suspension is miles better than a DR out the box.

It is a brilliant road bike. It is super smooth electric like power. I have had to learn to think ahead more beause the bike takes you places quicker - either that or my brain is slowing down.

Can't say Ive hammered it off road. Ive seen bleeeding Xchanlleges - B&B Bash plate arrives next week...

They need a few fixes and fiddles but they go.

So I have gotten it down to two bikes to replace the stolen 630... A Terra or a Sertoa. Looking for some opinions for those who know more then me. Both, to me, had a similar number of plus and minuses. For my purposes, I have a have a little dual sport for the rough stuff, a big sport touring for long distances and cafe racer for messing about on the black top. The TE630 replaced a GS Adventure that was just too big for my short legs off road. The TE was my exploration bike and was just about perfect for the purpose I bought it for, if not for a sticky finger Mexican in Baja I would not be considering either of these. So for medium distance 2-7 day back country camping trips that may see a fair few miles of black top to start and end with, what is best?

For what you are wanting to use them for, simply ride both of them and pick the one that feels best to you. They will both do the job you require easily. It is how they fit you and how you like how each rides that is important.

but wait, there's more! you also get the gift pack valued at $133. although the goggles like like the only useful item. not a bad deal, and i assume that means it would be around $9300 ride away in qld if you went single seat six months reg...

Then it would just break down and end up with the other 30 broken Katooms in the workshops of the last 3 dealers I have been too!!

Wanna make a motza in a very short time, own a KTM workshop!!

Very flash bashplate DRF, B&B do a good job.

interesting idea cruz...

i'm thinking 65 hp at the rear wheel, 125kg dry weight, top end rebuild by the time you hit fifth gear, then bottom end rebuild at the end of the street.
