So what's the roughest terrain you've taken the TR into? My last two rides on the DR have been punishing on the DR simply because I have to ride the clutch to go slow enough to keep control.

I'm rarely off the ground so doubles and whoops wont be an issue. Hell the biggest problem my suspension has for anything is my lard-ass that the poor thing has to haul around.

I hope you are right about the relibility Biggiem - it is warmed over with a lighter piston, higher comp and biger valves etc - usually once you start tweaking them...

The triangle theory reliabitiy, power, good price - you can choose two.

Off to Melbourne on it next weekend to make racks.
Full range of farkles available from SW Motech already listed on motorraddgarge.

Not that I've been looking and doin my sums since test riding a terra on Thursday....

I want to avoid pissing contests. It will do what you are saying. I have done tens of thousands of ks on a DR I had a bit to do with the DR thread here. This bike is a lot better and around the same price - sorry.

An acquaintance of mine planned the route for the launch and went on the ride. He has a number of bikes, mostly KTM`s, but was so impressed with the Terra that he bought one (at the right price, of course) and after it is run in and ridden a bit over here he will ship it to NZ to use on his regular trips back there.

He doesn't plan on doing much to it, maybe get the cats removed from the mufflers and fit a Safari tank when they come out; suspension is OK as it is according to him.

Wonder how reliable the electrics will be? Hopefully better than the Xchallenge; mine let me down a couple of times and I didn't trust it at all.

I reckon that now the Motor add garage Tiger XC is touring around, (currently in Katherine ) you need to watch this space as I've heard a whisper that a new shop demo bike is on the way

According to the guff the husky motor has been tweaked to deliver more power than the dakar and the sertao and aren't these motors assembled in china now. Both of these factors may or may not effect reliability.

I know quality of suspension means more than quantity but the husky is quoted at 190mm and the DR is quoted at 260mm.
Given that people are eventually going to load these huskys with gear wont the standard suspension need work like just about every other bike out there that get loaded for big trips.

Ted wasn't certain that it had them, but I thought all cars and bikes did these days. If not, all well and good, less money to spend.

I haven't even seen one yet, I'm just relaying his positive comments, so please excuse any mistakes I may make.

He said it was an easy and relaxing bike to ride, much easier than doing a couple of days on his KTM 690.

AMCN was the source of the comparison test I read from memory. Maybe their statistics for the bikes was wrong.

My point is that when 20 kg.extra gets out of control, the momentum will test even the best of suspension and frame geometry.

If husky has provided a good ADV bike good for them.

I am still waiting for a Yamaha wr450r as long as it has wrf spec suspension and doesn't weigh 20 kg more and it has a 6 speed gearbox plus 17L tank as standard. Did anyone else just see the Easter bunny?

Davo what sort of drugs do you need?

Here is my take on the bike. As a backgrounder I have owned 3 DR650s, done lots of miles on KLR650S, G650GS, Sertao etc. etc.
Happy to hear your feedback/suggestions/questions so I can add to the review to make it better. There was no real technical sections to the launch or challenging terrain which was unfortunate but we still got a good ride in.
