its got a cone screen inside but its off a 450sx. is it considered a spark arrester or is it in there to keep the sound lower?

Bluhduh 14" rim

I emailed Buchannon's and asked about having them dimple and drill a TW rim for 36 spokes. I told them i would weld up the existing spoke holes and then send them the hub and rim.

They said NO.

They wouldn't do that and they feel it would be unsafe.

But they did suggest finding a narrow steel 14" CAR wheel and cutting out the center and then they could dill that.

Yikes! Like i would do that. What a heavy wheel that would be.

I wanted to use a disc brake 36 spoke hub instead of the stock TW drum 28 spoke hub.

My next thought is to find an aluminum 14" undrilled rim and have it widened.

Hmmm, maybe a 14" ATV rim. But the aluminum rims are cast and I think that would be too brittle for using with spokes.
A steel ATV rim would be much lighter than a car rim though...

Thanks for being a pioneer!

i think a disc could be used on the tw rim with a little work. if i didnt sell all my disc brake parts i would probably have disc on it by now. all i woule need is a adapter made to bolt to the 3 bolt tw hub and fit the bmw disc. well maybe this winter it will be my new project. i love the tw wheel so much i might go ahead and put a disc on it.
