if anyone knows how to make this an interactive google map so it can zoom in and out please send me a PM with a how to...then i'll add then for each country travelled thru

Good to see you are on the road and sharing the adventure I use spotwalla.com paired with my cell phone running bubbler GPS app. Works like a charm and only uses a bit of data service. You can also pair it with a Delorme Inreach or SPOT device.
Cheers!

Even though you left without saying good-bye... Here are two options depending on which google maps you use.

Google maps engine: There is a folder incon in the upper left corner > select embed on my site.

Google Maps: There is an gear icon in the lower left corner. If you click on it, should give you option to share or embed. You want the url to embed:

took backroads out of Gig Harbor heading north, away from the rich people with sick sense of humor

past forgotten buildings

and on a ferry to Whidbey Island, with the seagulls strutting there stuff

then a night camping in Anacortes before an early morning ferry

got to Gunnerbucks house on Vancouver Island and found a small leak so after investigation found there were two O rings behind a seal where there should be only one, it was pushing the seal out and causing the issue, nothing too major, it was actually oiling the chain quite well...

Gunnerbuck and I are taking a few days to do some backroads on the island, so see you in a few...

i feel like i'm actually getting somewhere now i've actually had to get my passport out

And I was just about to ask you about keeping your chain lubed.

gunnerbuck set up a ride for us for a few days...what i will tell you is Vancouver Island should be very high every adventure riders places to go, its nothing short of spectacular

so a short ride from his place, he leads the way out of town

a few short logging roads as a warm up and then some lunch in a cafe made out of logging cable!!! Not good for heat insulation

and some old equipment outside

we then took an amazing single track trail to the top of a mountain to an overlook, i had my gopro running but it self deleted the file !!! gunnerbuck was following me videoing as well so i have his files and i will make a short video of the riding here

the ride up required a little 'adjustment' with a saw

at the top we came to this...

the man himself 'gunnerbuck' up on top of his secret trail, you would never find, we rode thru someones back yard to get to it

then we rode trails towards a camp spot

passing down another secret trail to a waterfall

its a lot bigger than it looks from up close

on to a camping spot right next to the water for the night

If I remember correctly, this is at the edge of town as you go South, where the road takes you to the hydroelectric plant after a turn.

it is interesting to visit the area where this plant is located, because the Katun river has many islands in the area, some connected via bridges to the river shore. Bummer that during the active tourist season the place is swarmed by vendors. But you can go between the booths and avoid paying admission to go through the Dam for the plant, which looked like a scam to me... Close to 10 bucks, ouch!!

There is also a monastery on an island on the Katun river, the views there are quite spectacular. Free and worth going.
