Wow ... you did it!

It seems like South America just whizzed by compared to Central America.

So what's next? How are you getting back? Riding? Flying and shipping the bikes back?

(Personally, I hope you're riding. Following your journey has been inspiring and a great way to experience the journey from afar).

Congratulations on getting to the end, well done. You’re heading into the fall and winter down there, and I hope the weather will be good for you as you head back up.

What were your favorite places in Ecuador?

Cool about another year of travel ahead! Looking forward to your ongoing adventures and reports.

My partner and I are thinking about becoming part time ex-pats somewhere. Ecuador is a country that is high on the list. Curious what your favorite places there were.

Yeh! It's summer here but it's still cold. We are looking forward to getting back north where it's been 30 c. Tired of the toque. But we have not had rain while riding at leads as it almost always rains after 4 pm.

MS Expedition

Staying in La Posta Hostel is a dream. It was recommended to us by lots of riders including Annaleen and Uli who we hosted in Vancouver on their way from Ushuia to Alaska.

It gave us time to try out all the places Wei suggested to eat. One of our favorites was Ramos Generales el Almacen, which is run by a French guy. The food and breads are amazing. We went there everyday! This is a submerino, which is hot liquor and hot milk that you drop the chocolate into.

That is why we met Blaine and Irene here 2 days in a row. We first met Blaine in Banos Ecuador in November.

We had to stop for photo ops at all the end of the world and Ushuaia signs.

One day we took the bike up to the base of the ski hill and then out to the airport for some nice views of the city.

We finally boarded at 4 pm and had great views of the city.

We had booked a “steerage class” cabin, but were pleasantly surprised to find it was very nice.

We ate all our meals here with our favorite waiter Louis. The Gang from Edmonton Tom and Terrie, Bev and Chris, and Mike and Kelly.
