Morrison Police Nazi's
If you have to go thru Morrison Colorado or travel 285 thru Morrison be very aware that this area is heavily paroled with numerous speed traps and or any type of know or made up traffic offenses. If they pull you over they will issue a citation guaranteed. Morrison Police is to Site and Collect Not Serve and Protect. Fines are Morrison's main source of revenue..No speeding ticket here. This is a HEADS UP. Lot of locals W. of Morrison complaining..

It is a revenue generating speed trap when they catch someone, it is an effective enforcement of public safety laws when they catch someone else...

If you want to see something interesting, look at the Morrison town platte of the city property. They annexed a thin strip of land from the town proper all the way out to 285 so they could generate revenue from that road.

I ride through Morrison and Red Rocks about 3 times a week when I am around. Never seen anybody stopped in town, but there is usually a speed gun set up between town and Red Rocks entrance. So you comments about speeding tickets surprise me. I guess I certainly would watch my speed going through town to avoid hitting anybody. But small towns are usually more focused on giving speeding tickets, both to help revenues but also to control people not used to the area.

Do they patrol up the canyon much? Back in the day we would go from Evergreen to Morrison very rapidly, I blew up my old Triumph just below Idledale doing this.

I've never seen them past that last driveway or road on the right before it goes to 45mph speed limit.

I got pulled over by a Morrison PD Officer on 285 - radar'd me while I was passing a slow moving car.
I told him that I was eliminating what I considered to be a threat and was busy watching the car that I was passing in the curve and not glued to my speedo. He understood the dynamics and let me go with a warning. Cool cop he was.
