The next day we headed down through Ridgeway and up 62 to Last Dollar Road. It cuts over to Sawpit on145. It's a beautiful ride on a good gravel road.

We went up Fall Creek Road to Woods Lake

From there we went up FS 618 towards Lone Cone mountain.

Scott getting it on.

I took some flowerdy pictures for the sensitive crowd.

I even captured a Hummingbird about to land.

Heading to Lone Cone

We stopped for a rest and almost stepped on a snake in the grass.

Dan hit a big bump and his bike died. We worked on it trying to find the problem for about 30 minutes. We finally found a broken wire and taped it back together.

We decided the best thing was to head back to camp for a permanent fix

The next day we headed off to Corkscrew Gultch. I remember it well as the place I threw my wife(Barbara) in the mud one year. At least she reminds me of it often. We came up on some 4 wheelers who didn't seem to want us to go by. Oh well !

Toward the top, Scott slid down in a silty turn. I was too late to document it so he says it never happened.

The scenery from the top was awesome! This is the turn Scott "allegedly" went down.

This is looking down Corkscrew Gulch. You can see the 4 wheelers on the trail below.

Dan headed out.

Scott in hot pursuit

From there we went up to Hurricane Pass.

Then down through California Gulch.

Where Dan and Scott ran up on a flock of sheep. How'd they get way out here?

We headed up Placer Gulch to the Gold Prince mine. It was a little scary but we went in anyway. But not Scott. He has kids and grandkids to go home to.

This is looking out from the mine. Beautiful unless you had to work in the mines every day.

I've ridden all over the roads around Silverton and Ouray, 15 years with the Colorado 500, but never tire of seeing them again, great photos! Bit of information: the 'restored power house' above Telluride on Black Bear is now a private residence! And the falls are called Bridal Veil Falls. As for the GS on Black Bear, I rode it one year on my R100GSPD but not fully loaded; I paddle-walked it down the steps where the Canadian GS got stuck. The view of Silverton from Kendall Mt is awesome, never been up there (yet.)

Thanks for the info. I wondered why the powerhouse was always closed. The view from Kendall Mt is one of the most spectacular I have seen. I know very few people go up there. They should!

We continued around to the Treasure Mt mine. It got real cold and started raining and sleeting, so we took refuge in one of the buildings there.

Mutt and Jeff.

This is the road going up Burns Gulch. Because of the weather we didn't go up it. It dead ends anyway.

The rain finally subsided after a while, but it was getting late so we headed back down to Ouray via the Alpine Loop. We kinda hauled ass so no pics. No video either because I had forgotten to turn off the GoPro when I put it in my bag. 23 minutes of sound and blackness.
Scott looked a little weary when we got back to camp.

We did some maintenance and drank a few beers.
