Thumb 11.000 km trip from Lisbon to Norway and back

On the past summer I made an unforgettable 11.000 km trip from Lisbon to Norway and back in my Yamaha FJR 1300. The trip lasted 23 days.

You may read this trip report and see more than 50 wonderful pictures in the “Ride & Trips” section of my website at: http://pierre.inazores.com

Hope you like it, as well as the many other trips I made before, which stories I also posted in my website.

Wow!

Unbelievable web site. Congrats. Everytime I read these reports I list another place I just have to visit.

Norway looks stunning.

Thanks for sharing.

Thumb norway trip

Well Pierre,

it looks as if you have set the standard for personal motorcycling websites. Fantastic photos & layout - what an incredible trip.

look like norway is much like british columbia where we live - except in Norway you don't need a seaplane to get to most of the beautiful spots.

For a LONG trip ship your bike to Maritime Canada - ride to the west coast - then south to Caifornia then across to Eastern US .

I was glad to know that you all liked the site and the pics :smiler

@ Dutchman,

I wish I could go again with you. We hadn’t time enough to go to Nordkapp. We would need additional 3 days.

I’m sure you’ll love the place, the people and the wonderful Norway landscape.

Watch out the speed limits !

Just in case you want any advice I will be more than happy to help you with my experience.

PS: Congratulations for you site too. I also liked very much reading your trip stories and watching the great pics

@ Let,

In fact Norway is a "must" to all "motards" ! It was the most fantastic place I ever ride !

@ dr650bc

As matter of facts one of my future plans (2005?) is to make North America "coast to coast" trip. I will have to rent the bikes there since I have no shipping transports from the Azores to US / Canada.

Perhaps we can meet, someday, somewhere …

Thanks Invisible,

I tried my best to share my enormous passion for motorcycles with everyone else ... and I'm planning already my 2004 trip

The Azores are beautiful but too small for my biking needs

Bom Dia

Turkey - good idea, but only if you stop off in Barcelona!

Ok maybe the Azxores is a little compact, but Portugal is also a great place to ride. Sometimes the road surfaces are not so good in some areas, but more than made up for by the people, food and views...

see you in 2004

Nice report and great pics Pierre! My mother was born and raised in Norway and I was born in Kristiansund. I'm hoping to visit next summer with my wife and two young children. I've often thought it would be a great place to ride. Unfortunately, the best I'll be able to do is a loop around the island of Averoy on my cousin's GS.

Cheers,

Erik

@ Terje,

Congratulations for living in such a wonderful Country, with a very kind and friendly population ! I'll certainly be back for a cruise in the fjords.

@ Spanish Bob,

I promise you to stop by Barcelona the next time I pass by your great City.

@ Unthanke,

I'm sure that the GS is a much better bike to ride in the beautiful and twisty Norway roads than my FJR :):
