Florida Routing Question

Do any of you Floridians have suggestions for routing through your great state? I'll be completing a UCC (Prudhoe to Key West) sometime next week and would welcome any suggestions to avoid traffic and/or the fuzz.

My prime questions are: Should we take 27 around Okeecheeobee (sp?)? Best time of day for heading through the Keys. Other secret ADVrider routes.

TIA,
Mark

I suggest getting on the FL turnpike if you are trying to make time to get south. Not sure how it is near miami though, but it goes through the center of the state. perhaps Pirate John can weigh in on this.

time constraints ?

If not US19 ( the other US19 ) cuts through the Ocala forest . 27 out near Lake Okeechobee is a very nice ride yes. But then again most routes in the middle of florida (stay away from 17 through Orlando -bad bad bad traffic).
route 50 or route 70 are nice west - east routes , although you need to divert around Orlando with 50. 41 is also really nice ,south of Naples.
Everyone says take 997 to bypass Miami traffic . If 997 is the only option god save the queen. Many nursery trucks hauling large palms and other big plants . Maybe after say 10 p.m. or midnight 997 might get better but I wouldn't feel real safe at traffic lights by myself that late.

My two cents worth! SR 27 to SR29 Through Collier County, to US41 south. Be particularly careful going through any Indian reservation, as the speeds are STRICTLY, and I mean STRICLY enforced.

Build a BIG ramp at the Georgia border, and jump.
