Scotland to Devon trip
I stay up in Scotland and have family down in Devon. I will be going down on the bike to see them in October. I did the same thing last year. I tried to stay off the motorway for most of it and stick to back road as much as I could. But did not really plan much and just ended up driven all the way down. I never stopped to see stuff on my way. Don’t want that to happen this year when I go. I don’t have a route planed for going down this year. But was looking for a list of things to go and see and do on my way there and back. Then just join up the dots to make my route. any one got tips on where I should go and what I should see

We live in Devon and stay up in Scotland. Also try to avoid motorway but not easy unless you have a few days to spare. The A6 Carlisle to Kendal is a cracking road but you probably know that youself. Normally come off the M6 towards Chester then pick up the A41 & A49. Often stay overnight in Chester or Shrewsbury both interesting places if you like history, old buildings etc. The A466 Monmouth to Chepstow is a nice biking road, stop for tea & cake at the Old Railway Station, Tintern where there is an exhibition on steam railway and the Abbey a little further along the road is also a good photo opportunity.
