I used to have miles of farm roads I could ride here, several remote farms next to each other. Gate wasn't locked, you just closed it behind you. After I wasn't riding as much other guys rode quads there, cut fences, chased cattle, left gates open and tore shit up. Now, the gate at the end is locked, sign says "Trespassers will be shot!"

Funny-I live about halfway down a dead end road. 5 acres of horse property between me and the nut at the end of the road. She is the mayor of our town!

I have a cottage at the end of 500 metres of private road. Several times I've been in the yard when a 4x4 or ATV drove up and was obviously shocked to find me there. They quickly turn around and head out, sometimes with a shagrined wave or nod. Makes me wonder wtf they do when I'm not there.
I don't mind people driving around and exploring but the damage done to my road by ATV's is very annoying. Roads go places. Small roads go to small places. If you're "exploring" a small road, you should be doing so respectfully and expect to end up in someone's yard. Don't blast in at speed and throw up a rooster turning around.

Wait... so you're suggesting we treat other people and their property with respect and dignity so we can continue to enjoy the freedoms we have? Perhaps even to go as far as putting ourselves in their position and treating them the way we ourselves would like to be treated? Nah, that'll never work...
