I looked closely at my Adventure side cases and have to agree 100%. But because of all the reported mishaps I'm thinking of a bit of insurance. It looks like I can run a couple zip ties through the inner gear tabs and around the side case frame rails.

Pictures of the hole in the bracket and the pin inserted to avoid the case from falling off. With this pin there's no way the case can come off (unless the pin snapped of course).

Well, almost. My topbox and right side cases you can't remove the key from the lock that hold them on the racks when unlocked, but the left side case I can. I've always wondered if somebody put the wrong lock/latch on that one case.
