Just saw your ride reports Joel really cool, thanks. Seems like a great group to ride with.
Hopefully I can try one of those rides when I go and visit. Just have to get ready since it's just recently I got back on the bike. Got to sharpen up those skills.
Keep on going guys, thanks.

First ever ride!!

Hey guys, I just got this bike on Tuesday and have never ridden anything that I didn't have to peddle. I know that the best way to get better is to challenge yourself so...

Can't wait to take her out again.

hey miko, no need to be an expert to enjoy riding. lots of people ride but what is worse are those who think they know how to ride when they can't.

it may take a few years to visit you guys. there's a cool secluded beach property there i want to live. hope it doesn't get over ran by developments.

To pick up where Joel left off after the mid day gas stop on the second day of the Pozo Ride.

After gas we hit the slab and at lunch at Pappy's Restaurant in Santa Maria.

Some great road to bypass 101S here was Foxen Canyon Road. Much better alternative then the 101, by far.

West Camino Cielo Road. The ocean blended into the sky so well you can't even see the horizon.

Too much fun.

Joel.

cc'er and Ben in tow.

Ben (ben99r1)

And our GPS tracks for the weekend.

nice post isaac..

from ben, nice and lots of it

Thought I'd get this Ride Report rolling since I don't bother editing the photos from my cheap-o Kodak sport camera. I'll let someone else describe the play-by-play since I'm not much for the wordy words.

Parking lot at the Ojai Cafe Emporium

Getting rolling with team "Intermediate (Casual)" which included Joel, Bill, Dale, Ben, Isaac, and myself - with guest appearances from Finn. We would be riding all the optional dirt routes at a sight-seeing pace.

Isaac leading us out of Ojai

Cruising up HWY 33

Pit stop at the Ranger Station

Joel leading us towards Quatal Cyn Rd

Dale ready for some adventure!

Isaac and Bill holding up the rear

Bill giving the salute

Heading towards Maricopa

Meeting up with the other groups at the Shell gas station

Joel leading us onto Elkhorn Rd

The trusty DR

Ben

Isaac

Dale

Joel

Bill

Then Finn showed up on his speedy 'Berg!

... and promptly hauled ass into the horizon...

It was dusty out there!

Riding HWY 58 towards E Pozo Road for one last stretch of dirt for the day

Lior, Ersin, and the girls trucking over the mountian behind us

Finally arrived at the Saloon!

Pee break at the end of Pozo Rd

Lots of tents and bikes at the Pozo Saloon

The bar with lots of bills stuck to the ceiling, must be a local tradition

The burger dinner was better than last year I'm told, pretty damn good

Finn and Isaac with bellies full of burgers, I lost count of how many they had

A brisk morning, water boiling everywhere

I tried to wash out the coffee cup but the water was freezing before I could pour it out!

Ready to roll

Taking pics on Camino Cielo, gorgeous views up here

The Pacific side

and Lake Cachuma on the other

This is kind of a cool picture. Neat how the color turned out. Looks like a photo of the old west!
