still sorting out some photos and getting them uploaded, always a pita with a slow connection.

i do know i rode 2300kms, that's 1400 miles in english speak, ya know, since we left Paris way last week.

the title should change the "Lost Souls" verbiage to something like "Just Plain Flat Out Lost". i swear i've never run into so many gravel road problems on what should have been a straight forward A to B route. paper maps sometimes lie, the GPS track looks like a bowl of black spaghetti on the screen. report to follow.

no matter where i ride, no sense reporting on the mundane, there's not a story there.

i certainly wouldn't say what i happen to report about the people i encounter on my west virginia rides is representative of the entire population...ain't about to pick a fight with a whole gang of them west virginia Mountaineers, i wouldn't come out on the winning end of that one.

the photo CD sent by Monsieur Nix has apparently been misplaced by the Postal Service, man, there's a big freakin' surprise. so here's a ride report teaser photo from my camera...

the exact location where this photo was taken is supposed to be under 3' of snow within 48 hours thanks to Sandy, the big storm off the mid-atlantic.

we crossed a bunch of our east coast "mountains" on this trip, and i have a max elevation reading of 4714' on the Garmin, now i have to check the maps again to see where that was.

report to follow, pending a little cooperation from the USPS folks.

Good grief! Have they no shame? They just lost my fitted earbuds en route (the most french I can muster...) to be repaired in Canada. No chance of getting them back - they want me to wait 30 days to start an "investigation! I can only imagine what that might turn up...

Looking forward to the report (hopefully with rediscovered photos).

those ear buds aren't lost, they're being enjoyed by a guy in a cute blue uniform with shorts, knee socks, and funky walking shoes. he's currently listening to Barry Manilow, calming his psyche, ya know, so he doesn't do that postal thing.

consider it a donation for the benefit of the rest of the population.

been distracted by recent meteorological events, i'll check when i compare the planned route with the tracks and paper maps.
