I know where the riding is up here, just want to meet up with some other blokes for a ride so I am willing to travel to Gympie to hook up with them.
Also this is the week day ride thread.
Thanks for your comment.

Can meet at Gympie BP, coming from Hervey Bay, would like to head North West or North East, have to be home before dark as my headlight is sadly lacking.
Lunch at a pub would be nice, open to suggestions.
I'm on a DRZ so would like to stay on mostly dirt
Cheers Lionel.
I'd love to Lionel, but I've been out riding heaps just lately and need to catch up on other stuff for a couple of weeks.

Hey Woopwoop that is the type of rides I like, not into mega hill climbs etc but just enjoying back country roads and taking in the great landscape

I think maybe the flat earth refers to not using latest techno stuff and just relying on plain old maps and jotting a few notes, as I do even though I've got a phone with GPS which I don't know how to use unless I take my 10yr old son with me
Regards Eric

Thanks woop woop...had a thumb through the 'rural roads and local town maps' book earlier this week when in Kingaroy, looks very detailed.. suspiciously like its been cut/paste from MRD or forestry but in a handier directory format. I think it was $30.00. Pity it didn't extend further or are their directories for other districts your aware of
The other maps I have, was hoping to compact them into satellite technology i.e. GPS. The ipad is a bit vulnerable in the tank bag..though touch screen is pretty cool!

About 120mm around here in the last couple of days and could be more to come.

Think I'll wait until it dries out a bit.

yer mate, god knows how much we've had here, i got my bobcat bogged on the weekend and I was only 10m away from my house, so the 990 does not leave the hard stuff for quite some time.
Supposed to be going to fraser this weekend with 16 other vehicles, will be interesting to say the least
At least we aren't camping and have a solid roof over our heads and a cook every night.
