I have you beat, I've lived between San Diego and Paso Robles for 53 years and haven't once been temped to ride it on my motorcycle, though I have been on it on my bicycle. Too many other good roads to ride on without all the attention.

When I was stationed at Edwards Flight Test Center, we rode in the Tehachapi area quite a lot. Great roads in that part of the state! I do miss CA.

Oddly I didn't die, and that corner is one of the more tame ones in that area.
...the mind boggles.

The ONLY even slightly tricky part with that curve is that its slightly decreasing radius going up hill, and I mean slightly.....did I mention the WHOLE THING is banked favorably?

Yeah.

Yeah.
No oil on or near the apex? No suspiciously empty cans of lubricant lying about?

Just a bunch skidmarks.

Talking to a couple locals that is where they go to "learn" I can see the issue there.

Any idea what the accident rate is? 5% of bikes crash at that corner? 1%? lower? higher?

I ask because we see a hell of a lot of fuckups on that corner so I'm wondering how representative the videos are.

Dunno I was there for about 2 smokes, a coupe vette's a mini and an E30 BMW drop top were all I saw go by.

Yeah.

Further proving my theory. "Oh wow! Lots of people are watching over there, I better try extra hard to look cool"

Or a lot of people just don't know how to ride.

Here is the thing, you REALLY have to pressing, the half mile before that is 1st/2nd gear work and very very tight.

So its a combination of the two I would wager.

I'll also say that is a road that a fair amount of institutional knowledge is required, there are stop signs, lights, drive ways, bicyclists (I saw more pedal bikes than other motorcycles) and it goes from mild to wild and back a couple times. I was just scouting, it was just before dark on a Friday night so relatively empty.
