The canal

Thanks for the video of the canal. Brought back some seriously old memories: did that on a submarine way back in the day - like 23 years back. Didn't get to see much as I only managed to get topside for a few minutes. But I do remember how we roped the boat to some little train car like things that drug us through each of the locks. And yes, the entire passage took all day. Wonder how much the bill was? Never realized it cost anything but I guess it makes sense charging by weight.

Talking Thanks and Merry Christmas

Hi Gene and Neda,

Thanks for over a year of entertaining reporting. I have greatly enjoyed following your journey from the start and admire your great photography and wit.

I hope you have Merry Christmas together whereever you spend it. It's only nine hours away now in Perth WA. (That's West Oz not Washington). Hope you make it here someday.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Neda and I would like to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone that's following. We're glad to have you along with us!

Also to our friends in the Toronto-area affected by the ice storm: hope the power comes back soon for you. Stay warm and be safe!

Merry Christmas. Awesome report, awesome life.
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I've had a good life all the way.
