I'm sorry to hear that a cruel fate changing your way, which I have followed from the beginning.

Don't give up hope! My Aunt had the same condition as Neda's mother and had treatment and surgery that fixed the spinal problem with very few side effects. It's was a long process but she is doing very well! There is hope!

Message from Neda:

I just wanted to send a big thank you to all of you at ADV who have expressed your concern and well wishes for my mom during her battle with cancer. Since our blog is behind, I just wanted to let you know that my mom spent a long six weeks in the hospital waiting for a surgery date because of secondary health complications.

She underwent a very long and complicated procedure, during which the doctors successfully removed the tumour and rebuilt the affected vertebrae. Unfortunately, she only lived another 10 days after the surgery because her body was just too weak and exhausted to recover. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.

I miss her very much and want you to know that your comments over the last two months brought me a lot of comfort.

Thank you
Danke schon

Oh man, that is terrible about your mom Neda. I'm really sorry to hear that. I do know how you feel as my mom passed away back in May.

Neda - I'm so sorry for your loss

My Dad passed away 9 years ago and i still miss him, our parents are part of who we are, but this is part of life. I will think good thoughts for you every day for as long as I can. Cry, laugh but always remember you are her legacy and part of her will always be with you,
I would rather be sorry for something I did than for something I did not do.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm glad to hear that you were able to spend her final weeks by her side. Your mother will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolences to you both.

Neda, you & your mother were obviously very close, and it's very hard to lose those who are near & dear to you. I hope you find peace in knowing that her pain is over, and how fortunate is was for both of you to be able to spend time together before her passing.

It's good to know that Gene is finally catching up with you where he belongs.

Peru-nich and loss

Gene and Neda:
It's been a long way from the "big nickel" in Sudbury, and though I've been mostly quiet and well behaved sitting here in the back, your adventures have been my adventures (vicariously).

I was lifted by your pictures of Munich, particularly the Rathaus, and then deflated with the news of Neda's mom's passing.

I pray the best for you as you pass through your grief, and am confident that the sunny Croatian countryside will provide the rest and refreshment your spirits need at this time. You are an inspiration in your outlook, your forthrightness and your stunning reportage. Thank you
There is nothing better than to be happy, and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.
