Great RR. I'll be doing the same in 1.5 years. I'm just very jealous that you two have each other. It seems every girl I talk to about my future trip thinks it's a neat idea but wants no part of it.

Gosh! I'd swear I was on the same road. I spent a few days in Oaxaca and another guy and I rode up into the mountains on a windy gravel road. There was a small village on the other side of the mountain, but when we got there, a man told us that the main highway out of town was shut down for construction and we had to ride the winding gravel road back out as it got dark.

I never saw (nor heard of) those incredible pools!

I fell quite a bit behind on your ride report and just spent the last couple of hours catching up.

Cuba has me speechless.

Jamie

This RR is like a great book, I just can't put it down! And with me being a lil slow I love to have pictures to look at!
You guys look like you are having such a great journey, smiling in every picture. I don't want it to end.
I may have missed it, but how many miles since you left last year?

Neat to catch up on your report for the last couple months. Loved the Cuban part and it kinda goes with other ride reports from there. But, it's life. Keep them coming, enjoying follow ya'll about the world.

Muchas Gracias!!

Thank you both for sharing your adventures with all of us!! You have an uncommon respect and genuine interest for all the people and places. I've been following along now for only about a month - trying to catch up (currently on post #1155) and you've been doing this for over a year! Impressive commitment to your dream.

So I happen to notice that an '09 GSA has appeared locally f/s and I'm wondering how you deal with the premium fuel / octane requirement in many of the remote / impoverished places you are visiting?

Btw, some of my best friends are Cubans (now living here in Nova Scotia) and I appreciate your fair but honest comments. I'm not sure I could be as objective.

Safe travels Gene and Neda!

And once again, THANKS!!!

Cuba has always seemed like an interesting and intruiging place to visit, with both highs and lows to experience as your observations have proven. I'm looking forward to finally going, if sadly not with a bike. A break from unrestrained commercialism and people with their faces burried in electronic devices sounds refreshing...at least for a while! Great report!

Start your trip and you'll meet the women you're looking for along the way.
She is out there doing the same thing not stuck back in your town.
She'll probably be Canadian or European anyway.
Like minded people are found out there on the road .
Don't look for them or expect to find them where you live.

Thumb You TWO ARE THE COOLEST COUPLE EVER!!!!

Because of you I will do nothing but dream about doing something like this for the next few days!
Now how much money is my house worth...? How can I cash in my 401K?... Sell the rest of my possessions... and follow your lead!
Do'h I forgot.. .... I still have to find a girl that is as cool as Neda to to join me! I Just seem to always attract the Suburbanite loving/work/sleep/watchTV... girls of the world who think I'm crazy for wanting to live life free!, travel, and have fun! Instead of popping out babies and try to win the rat race until I'm old and retired!
Hey!!!! Neda.. do you have a sister?? I've been told I'm a great guy..

Joking aside! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR AWESOME ADVENTURE! Follow your dreams! You are true inspiration to us all!
