Help please advice on gear oil for RMX

Hi I have a 1996 RMX 250 i have rebuild the top end and plan to use it this Wednesday I also have taken off the RHS case to check the power valve linkage and really want to put new oil in. I have looked in every shop I can find where i live but no one has gear oil, but I have 5 ltrs of automatic transmission fluid in my garage, would it be OK to use that in my RMX gear box.

No, find some GEAR OIL, there are many of online stores that sell it, the ATF is to thin

I use ATF in my 2t 'KTMs and EXC530 trans. The synthetic stuff works great.

I used ATF in 2 stroke transmissions for years. I know lots of people that have also used ATF, never heard of a problem.

atf works fine. change it more often.

Rotella is great oil, Recluse recomends it with their clutches.
