Who can get the best NC700X Fuel mileage?

Tell us what speeds you were going.
Percentage of city and highway riding.
Octane rating fuel.
Did the fuel contain ethanol?

I'll start this off with my first tank. After I left the dealer with mine, I topped it off with 87 octane non ethanol
and went 205 miles when the fuel gauge started flashing. I rode 17.4 miles more and topped off with again with
87 octane non ethanol, 3.1206 gallons.
I rode the speed limits from 55 - 70 mph 95% highway 5% city. I usually shift between 2600-3500 RPM.
On this tank I wasn't trying for the best I could get, I was just riding like I normally do when going to and from work.
222.4 / 3.1206 = 71.26 MPG.

I know some have beat this mileage, but lets see who can get the best on ADV.
Then maybe we can see who can get the worst.

I thought so to, since I wasn't really trying for the high numbers the first tank.

When I get in the higher gears I generally shift at 3000 to 3500. I haven't red-lined it yet, I guess I'm
used to my diesel pick up. The torque curve works real well for my driving style.
I know it could get me in trouble speed wise, but it is enjoyable to ride at slower pace and I think I will be able to 80 mpg out of it when its run in.
I'm sure I could get 50 mpg out of it in the curves too. It is a fun little bike than gets the famed BMW mpg numbers.
My TW is the only bike that I got over 70 mpg and that was painfully slow going to and from work.

What brand of gas is 87 octane, non-ethanol in Missouri? I'm in central Missouri and I think they are all 10% unless you buy premium.

Great mpg btw. I'm becoming increasingly interested in the Honda.

Sorry but every gas station that I know in Missouri has ethanol. I got my gas in Oklahoma. I bought my bike in Tulsa
and topped off the first tank in Miami. My Dad lives in OK also and I topped off again before returning to MO.

That was fast!
I wondered if you got it in OK. Now that the EPA is encouraging E15, I expect we're screwed here in MO.

Those're pretty impressive fuel milage figures for the NC700!! Best I've ever gotten out of my Kawi EX250-H (ZZ-R) is 60mpg ... and I Ride conservatively ...

The long stroke and fuel efficiency of the Honda Jazz motor is famous. They took half (2 cylinders) and made the NC700X.
In Europe we talk about 3-4L / 100km. That is super good!

I just looked at the ethenol free list.... for my area (Minnesota) it's a pretty dang comprehensive dang list.

Seems for me, the cure is just buy premium.

FYI, that's great news and great reading about the new Honda. Went and sat on one a couple weeks ago, maybe not the bike for me, but does have some impressive bits about it.

Looking forward to hearing more about the Honda, I have been following the other threads for it here and there.

The only premium gas that I buy is for my chainsaws, because they require it. Now that I know I can get non ethanol in premium I will pay the extra.
