Seriously KASUYAHO, in the kindest, gentlest way I know how... take your "XR 650 is the pinnacle of engineering" "all Husabergs are unreliable are euro exotic time bombs" dogma and bash it up your arse, for just a moment mate.

Have YOU ridden an FE 70 degree engined Husaberg?

Almost everyone who has (from beginner to expert) since the day the 70 degree sloper engined Berg's were released back in 2009 have commented (no raved) about how little effort was required to turn the bikes. The balance, the braking and ergonomics of the new engine design made the 450 an instant hit. The broad power of the 570 brought pleasure back to the 500cc plus 4 stroke category and the 390 when it turned up in 2010/11 instantly became the new 4 stroke woods weapon of choice.

Geez Troy Safari Carpenter, in the kindest, gentlest way i know.

Get your OWN head out of your OWN arse so your not looking at your OWN bullshit mate.
The XR650R was not even mentioned, your OWN bullshit hey.

So stop thinking everything revolves around YOU.

The question was to a guy who likes the bike, owns the bike and rides the bike, Simple as that.

It isn't that hard to understand hey.

KASUYAHO, it appears as though I owe you an appology. From your first two posts, it appeared to me (apparently incorrectly) that you were merely baiting the subject of the Husaberg 70 degree engine designs discontinuation. From the context of your consecutive posts, I certainly did not make the connection that you were referring to another individual (inmate/freind of yours), but merely interpreted that you were out to make "waves" in general?

It is true, that you made no mention of the XR 650 in your posts - pehaps my reaction was partially prompted (pre-conditioned) as a side effect of the amount of XR6.5 "dogma" (as i referred to it) that takes place in the XR owners thread (and elsewhere) on a regular basis. In that respect my reply was way off base; it was an error of judgement on my part... all I can say in defence is a "bad day" on my part.

Perhaps one could say that you were inadvertently the subject of "the boy who cried wolf" syndrome somewhat... or guilt by association? In either case it was a wrong call on my part. I took your intitial two comments as bait... if indeed that was the intention - well, you got a bite. That I replied in the manner I did was not warranted. Sorry.

In reference to your comment; "So stop thinking everything revolves around YOU."

What?

As far as the contents of this thread goes, all of the comments I have contributed about the Husabergs are a mix of personal experiences, other riders reports/feedback and the general market perception/reception for the 70 degree bikes from 2009 to present day. How you make the jump to make the above statement is interesting.

Perhaps yours is a reaction to the fact that at times (fairly regularly) I post items/points of view, that often contain a great deal of personal input/perspective and are frequently rather detailed/lengthy. That I often engage in back/forth banter with other inmates is also perhaps something that serves to give you that impression, but it is not about post counts or "me" persé... just the result of someone who enjoys writing/conversing about motorcycles (and other rubbish) with some like minded individuals?

Sorry for the blow out, I'll try to do better in future (brevity/levity).

the 500 exc is 1.5 litres so chances are the 2012 FE bergs will the same. which wouldn't be too bad, only a 100ml drop in capacity?
I don't recall saying that the engine could overheat with that set up... pehaps what you recall me referring to were comments about the stock exhaust system on the FE 70 degree bikes, and it's location between the cylinder head/under the front fuel tank, does create a great deal of heat... which can cause a numbrer of drama's...

but this is perhaps more relevant the the Oz FE Husaberg adv riders thread... so I will post it there...

I enjoy reading your posts Troy and rattling your chain on occasion about your lack of brevity. I to thought K was saying that the 70 degree was crap "didn't cut the mustard" so I suppose it was possible to take it that way. Anyway I'll be buying one soon, 570 used or new. Might wait to see if they do a run out on new to clean the floors (if there are any left).

Well, Husaberg did offer a 1000$ rebate on their 2012 models recently- that's when I bought my 570 and at that time (late June) there were apparently only around 10 570's left unsold with Husaberg in Australia; so I would not rely on further price drops if I really wanted one....

They have been there since June. Ring them and, oh sorry, haven't we taken that ad down yet?

get a second hand one......I know a bloke about here that may be trying to palm off a couple of spanking new motors for a reasonable rate!!
(Stick a shirt in the mail Garry for the commision!) - maybe you could advertise them as the "last of the 70degree motors!"

Troy knows from previous posts I have been wanting one for a while. But instead of a Husaberg 570 I bought a replacement blue plastic toy but with a 2 stroke motor when I came back from OS this year in Feb.

New

Then from the far west coast in SA it got the knackers treatment

But it was money well spent at Shark Bay and at Gnaraloo and Ningaloo station for five weeks of camping on the beach

And then jumping in on the dugong

And the whale sharks - not from my boat though but my photo

Then five weeks later back to the far west coast of SA a little worse for wear.

Wow! Apparently the new 2013 range of Husabergs have everything... Including four new blue toned 4 stroke oranges, 3 different two smoker models... even a Green pensioner mover and nice blue placcy floaty boaties!

You sure look like you were doing it tough Knackers... suffered through 5 weeks of camping on an idyllic remote beach, fishing eh?

Applause!

I'd use the phrase "lucky bastard"... but I rightfully mean "well deserved" most likely.

Snap up that 2009 570 FE that's for sale on Bikepoint lad... It'll make the perfect medium artillery compliment to that SE 950 assault vehicle of yours; perfect for those occassions when you not doing land/sea manouvers chasing fish offshore.
