Who wants to ride my bike from Los Gatos CA to Portland OR?

OK, I'm not sure that's exactly what I want to do but my bike (Honda CB500X) will be stuck at a friend's house in Los Gatos until I find a way to get it back to Portland.
I'm looking at several options:
- Shipping (first quote I received was ~$400)
- Installing a hitch on my car and renting a trailer ( ~$400 to $500)
- Leaving it down here until I can fly down again and ride back up.

My title question is actually serious. Do you know of any ridding forum where people match up for services like this? I did not find anything on this forum.

Any recommendation on shipping company? Does the quote above sound reasonable?

In any case, I am now in San Jose with my wife and 2 vehicles. My wife cannot drive nor fly so I need to get us back-up with the car. The bike is my main transportation up in Portland and I'm looking for a way to get it back up there ASAP.

Back story on why I find myself in this situation:
This weekend I had a pretty unique opportunity to attempt a Bun Burner ride. We live in Portland and my wife was on a 2 week personal road trip to visit some friends in San Jose California so I decided to ride down and meet everyone for diner Saturday night.
I left Portland Saturday at 7am, and got to San Jose around 8PM. I added some miles to make this an 800 Miles day and have some cushion on the return.
Sunday morning I left at 6am for what I thought would be a straight shot up I5. Shortly after 1:30PM, just south of Redmond OR, I got a phone call from a hospital in San Jose. My wife had been admitted and they found my phone number in her ipad (she was not able to communicate). I don't want into get into details on her condition other than saying that she is now fine and almost fully recovered.
At that point I decide to turn around and get back to San Jose. I got there just before 9PM, finishing what ended up being over 1700 miles in 38h.

Trailer hitch and a car carrier to put the bike on the back? I don't know what kind of car you have, or whether this is an option for you.
But unlike renting a trailer, you'd own it afterwards, or could sell it once you're home.

I googled "trailer hitch motorcycle carrier"

Good luck!

Since you're going to have to pay the riders expenses back to his house(not just the airport) $400 to ship the bike sounds like a deal.

Have you checked with UShip? It's kind of like eBay for shipping. With a little bit of effort, I was able to get a motorcycle shipped from Florida to Washington, DC for about $150.

I have to fly to SLC The week of the 17th, and was looking at a bonus layover to ride PCH the weekend before or after. My flights won't be booked until mid next week, so let me know if you're still looking for someone.

Also how cold is the coast this time of year?

Take a cheap bus ride back to your bike, ride it home. Or, rent a uhaul trailer and tow the other car and bike home. Trailer rental one way shouldn't be to bad. You will save on gas as well.

I will ride it there if that is needed.

Not kidding. Have delivered a few bikes to inmates.

I would do it if I had a ride back.

That reminds me of something: There are ride sharing sections on Craigslist. Usually someone is going off to college, and looking for someone to help with fuel costs. You might try looking for a ride from Portland to Los Gatos. Probably cost you $50 in fuel contributions or something. What about Greyhound?
