Just uploaded a bunch of pictures to facespace that kinda tell the story behind the GatosBros logo. Spent an embarrassing amount of time on it and it's still not done-done-done, but close enough.

Awe thanks. You should take another look. Just finished getting the whole thing sandblasted and painted and have started putting it all back together.

Looks like really nice work. Well thought out and simple solutions to common problems.
I love the hand guard mounts with the tie down holes! Let us know when your website is up and you start taking orders! Cheers |

Looking forward to seeing these designs come into fruition. Best of luck with the endeavor!!!
I just bolted up my Cycra hand guards to my 2011 KTM 250 utilizing Cycra's Solution as the newer triple clamps on the KTM have the rearward facing triple clamp bolts that make traditional clamping impossible. ![]() The mount itself felt quite heavy but I thought a centimeter of aluminum would hopefully resist the torsional twists of crashing. One crash later and i had torsionally twisted the aluminum mount, something I thought impossible, and bent the bolts. Joy. You're working with a simple, yet purely functional method to removing the shear forces from the handlebar end bolt mount, awesome I'll be getting some sets of those . On the other side of the coin quite an elaborate solution to designing an upper clamp for the dampener. Great to see the efforts being put forth I'll be touching base with you guys when back in the states in a few months.Best of luck.

Very impressive work! Someone has some skills on the tube as well as the mill. The areas you have identified to upgrade are certainly needing attention. The loads imposed onto the hand guards during a crash are formidable. I assume you have tested your solutions & found them to be improvements or you would not be proceeding with production.
Have you determined pricing yet? All this is familiar in a sense since I too have spent a considerable amount of time developing new products since retiring from the aerospace world. Developing a product that is buildable for the right price to sell to the public is tricky. Particularly when they may not know why it is better. And the advantages of patents....that is another story. Spoken bay a man who has several patents. Anyway, my compliments. My website...globetrottin.com...Not for business but more for sympathy. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the positive feedback and encouragement guys.
Yes, we've got pricing all sorted-out, but would like to wait to share that info until we have parts in-stock, ready to ship. If everything goes as-planned with the anodizing and laser-etching, that should be sometime before the end of next week. Edited my first post to include a general note about pricing though. jesusgatos screwed with this post 08-15-2012 at 10:40 PM |

great stuff. sign me up for the C-clamp and/or Pinchy mounts.
I hope the prices aren't astronomical. I'm a big fan of USA made though!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Rob, or RoboBoogie. Thanks so much for all of the positive feedback and support. Just submitted my entry for King of the Motos. This is the kind of riding that I really love, and the kind of abuse that we're designing our parts to take. Not sure I'm up to it, but I know our parts are....

All the anodizing got finished last Friday. Parts are sitting at the laser shop, scheduled to be done at the end of this week. I had a few parts sent my way to check out the colors as a final sign-off, and am very pleased. Take a look!

Working on it, but the website isn't going to go live until next week when we've got the first batch of parts back.
