Good punt.

AH quit wining!

It is the EASTERN NC TAG game.

We have some eastern folks that will play with it.

Looks like @ 3 1/2 hours to the TAG for me. Depending which route I take. Hwy 24 all the way to Moorehead city then catch 70 looks like the more scenic route. That ride down 70 really sucks. Did that route a couple times grabbing and placing TAGs.

Just whining, mainly.

IF that's the case, I officially remove my public whine about the location. Just hate to see these things get dumped where they sit for weeks/months for no apparent reason other than they got stashed at an undesirable ride location.

That's why I would have to take hwy 24 instead of US 70. That road just plain sucks.

Sometimes a little reverse psychology is needed to get those lazy eastern taggers motivated.
Currently in the western end of the state. Graduation in 3 hrs.
But who's counting?

"Undesirable"? That's rich. It would be a shame if people actually had to take a ride on their motorcycle to some remote part of EASTERN North Carolina.

Hey, if your preferred ride is a straight, level ride for hours and hours, great. Mine's not. Hopefully there are other folks that are either within reach of that or enjoy that sort of riding.

Here's my route to the tag:

Like I said, I'm just whining. Looks like a cool spot for a tag if you're in that neck of the woods. The ride from here is one that without that nasty curvature of the earth, I could see it from here with the right eyeglasses prescription. Don't think I've had 8 or 10 uninterrupted hours to ride in months anyway.

Hopefully, we're going to get some down east folks interested in tagging. It would be very cool to see this game bouncing all over the boundaries. Or if there are enough folks from the active areas that enjoy riding to the coast and back, then I'm just odd man out. No big deal. Just hate to see a bunch of the tag games I try to play get stalled due to location.

No worries amigo, it's all cool.
It's a long ride out there any way you cut it, I took a route that minimized slab running. But it was over 400 miles and took me 10+ hours. I'm riding today (heading east again :) ), but can post my route later, not that it really matters.
Flat- yes but not boring, at least to me.
Mountains are good, heading there tomorrow, the east has it's own charm.;)

When I went to the Outer Banks, we took all backroads on the way there, until we got to Plymouth where it was 64 the rest of the way. I'd call it anything but straight and boring.

And I dont see how anyone can complain about riding around AT the beach.

Backroads to the beach on the northern part of the state aren't too bad. You've got a good mix of farms, historic buildings, swamps, and neat small towns. In the southern part, it is nothing but sandy roads and trailer parks.

Oh, I know it *can* be done. Just no way for me to manage it personally.

I've sort of lost my fascination with the beach since the Tards That Be all but eliminated 4WD access. Feel badly for the folks that live there having their lives affected by moonbats in Colorado, etc.

From the Fayetteville area I would say take Hwy 53 to Hwy 41, that way you avoid all the major roads until you hit Jacksonville, at which point you are kinda screwed. I camping in the national forest there two months ago, if you ride that far you might as well go check out Fort Macon right at Atlantic Beach.. Hwy 53 to 41 is ok for about 40 miles during that ride. The rest is a little boring. From Raleigh a couple of hours spent in New Bern wouldn't be a total bust.
